DEPARTMENT: Will County Court Services River Valley Detention Center

 

TITLE:  Licensed Clinical Psychologist               

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Psychologist and Assistant Superintendent of the River Valley Detention Center

 

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR:   Maintain a therapeutic caseload of detained youth to provide as needed, weekly, or bi-weekly psychotherapy. Facilitate weekly psycho-educational group therapy sessions with detained youth. Complete court-ordered psychological evaluations and screens on detained and out of custody court-involved youth. Provide crisis intervention services with at-risk youth detained at RVDC. Provide mental health consultation during 24-hour disciplinary reviews, and complete daily segregation checks when necessary. Participate in On-Call 24/7 mental health crisis rotation. Complete court-ordered forensic evaluations, including competency, criminal responsibility, and psychosexual evaluations, for in-custody and out of custody defendants for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court. Appear in Court when necessary to provide testimony on cases. Provide clinical supervision to students when assigned. Assist in case management when assigned. Maintain adequate records of all clinical work as outlined under the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) and RVJC protocol. Complete special projects as indicated by the Chief Psychologist.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM                      A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; Licensure to practice in the State of Illinois; and experience with Fitness/Sanity Evaluations

SALARY RANGE:                     $66,000 - $99,000
