Juvenile Detention Officer

The primary function of the J.D.O. is to ensure the security of the building as well as resident safety.  Additional roles of the J.D.O. includes managing resident behavior, detention authorization, maintaining accurate legal documentation and conducting and developing new programs that emphasize access to physical and mental health care, recreation and religious services.

MENTAL HEALTH POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP POSITION #1

 Job Duties:

       The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for holding a caseload of individual and family therapy clients (both detained and outpatient youth).  Responsible for co-leading one to two groups with advanced practicum students and/or pre-doctoral interns.

o   All treatment requires documentation in the form of PIRPP notes, Treatment Plans, and Client Transfer Summaries.  

       Providing crisis intervention support and participate in a rotating on-call schedule for crises. Post-doctoral fellows have the ability to change the classification of a resident and place them on and remove them from Suicide Watch and Close Observation statuses.

       Conducting psychological screenings and psychological evaluations also with detained and outpatient youth, that focus on providing diagnoses and treatment recommendations.

       Ability to conduct forensic evaluations for the Juvenile and Adult Courts of Will County, including Sex Offender Evaluations, Competency to Stand Trial, and Sanity Evaluations, with the potential to testify in Court and observe other forensic evaluators testify.

       Responsible for case management within RVDC, including monitoring court orders and assigning cases to Mental Health team staff and students.

       Provide individual supervision to doctoral level practicum students and participate in group supervision/didactic trainings.

       Opportunities to observe Juvenile Court proceedings.

 Requirements:

       1 year (50 weeks), 2000 hour commitment

       Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. or 8:304:30)

       Attend weekly supervision

 Benefits/Compensation:

       Salary is $42, 000

       13 paid holidays

       10 unpaid vacation days

       Reimbursement for work-related mileage (between facilities or to trainings)

       Ability to attend conferences or trainings

       Facility will provide a cell phone for on-call duties

POSITION OPENING

 

 

DEPARTMENT: Will County Court Services River Valley Detention Center

 

TITLE: Licensed Clinical Psychologist             

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Superintendent of the River Valley Detention Center

 

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Delivers psychological services to the Residents in the Detention Center

as well as providing Fitness/Sanity Evaluations and Sex Offender Evaluations for both the juvenile and adult court systems.  Determines appropriate intervention strategies and conducts individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions.  Provides expert testimony as needed.  Maintains timely and accurate records of treatment sessions and, when appropriate, provides verbal and written summaries of the progress in treatment.  Provides crisis intervention as needed, including during non-work hours as part of an after-hours On-Call Team.  Conducts pre-employment psychologicals as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and licensed to practice in the State of Illinois; Experience with Fitness/Sanity and Sex Offender Evaluations preferred
